The National Cannabis Industry Association is asking a Drug Enforcement Administration judge to clarify whether it can cross-examine the agency during marijuana rescheduling hearings set to start next month.

Cannabis Bioscience International Holdings is asking a Drug Enforcement Administration judge for permission to include young medical cannabis patient Alexis Bortell as a witness during upcoming marijuana rescheduling hearings.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) says he’ll again include marijuana legalization in his budget proposal next year, and several lawmakers are also discussing plans to push for the reform to be enacted in 2025.

Wisconsin’s Senate minority leader announced a plan to push for legalizing medical cannabis in 2025 now that Democrats have eliminated a Republican supermajority in the legislature.

The Drug Enforcement Administration is significantly increasing its quota for the amount of the psychedelic DMT that can be legally produced in 2025 “to support legitimate research and scientific efforts toward an FDA-approved drug product.”

A new federally funded study shows that marijuana terpenes “relieve post-operative and fibromyalgia pain” in mice.

  • “These results demonstrate that the terpenes geraniol, linalool, β-caryophyllene, and α-humulene may be a viable medication for post-operative and fibromyalgia pain relief.”

Biotechnology company MindMed announced that it has begun dosing patients in the first-ever Phase 3 clinical trial of LSD—with the current study focusing on whether the psychedelic can treat generalized anxiety disorder.

The Drug Enforcement Administration posted information about how it schedules controlled substances.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) dodged a question about cannabis banking legislation.

Rep. Jamal Bowman (D-NY) said during his farewell speech on the floor of the House of Representatives that it’s time to “free all marginalized people, especially those locked up on trumped up marijuana charges.”

The West Virginia Supreme Court ruled that judges can bar people from using medical cannabis as a condition of probation.

Colorado regulators posted guidance for psychedelics businesses.

Kentucky regulators held a lottery for medical cannabis dispensary licenses.

New York regulators are providing workforce development assistance for justice-impacted cannabis entrepreneurs.
