The U.S. Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee will hold a hearing on the therapeutic potential of psychedelics for military veterans on Friday.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh District ruled in favor of medical cannabis patients who are suing to protect their right to own guns—a decision that comes as the U.S. Supreme Court is set to consider marijuana consumers’ Second Amendment rights.

Jonathan Morrison, President Donald Trump’s nominee to be administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, said he wants to “double down” on increasing awareness about the risk of marijuana-impaired driving in partnership with the White House.

The Virginia Joint Commission to Oversee the Transition of the Commonwealth into a Cannabis Retail Market held its second meeting, with members discussing tax and revenue options for marijuana sales as lawmakers again consider establishing a commercial market.

South Park’s latest episode featured a marijuana business owner lobbying President Donald Trump to reschedule cannabis, suggesting that the move could be “mutually beneficial” for the industry and the president.

A new federally funded study found that “chronic CBD administration mitigates key behavioral and neurobiological features of alcohol dependence by reducing withdrawal symptoms” and “lowering relapse risk.”
